Video Camera Tips / Camcorder Charger Information
Extending your Camcorder Battery Life:
There are several ways to get more battery life out of your camcorder. Turn off the LCD view screen and use the viewfinder to take pictures and video.
Avoid leaving the camera idle when in between shoots of photos and video recording. Zoom buttons and continuous auto focus uses up battery life and
can instead be manually done operated when taking photo shots and still video. Be professional and use a professional-style tripod instead of
relying on your camcorder’s automatic image stabilization. Avoid constantly previewing photos and videos on your camcorder, as this takes up a lot
of battery power to run the media and view it on the LCD screen. Avoid using the built in light on the camera. Fully charge your camcorder batteries
before use to ensure maximum battery life.
Charging your Camcorder:
Brand new camcorder batteries don’t arrive fully charged and should be charged before use. When camcorder batteries are stored away beyond 4 weeks,
they tend to lose their charge over time and need to be recharged again. If a camcorder is going to be used for an extended period of time, extra
battery packs should be purchased. An external battery charger can also be purchased to charge extra batteries. Camcorder batteries with an extended
battery life are also available for some camcorder models and will increase your battery life between charges. Li-ion camcorder batteries have a high
capacity battery life and are capable of 300-500+ discharge / charge cycles.
OEM Camcorder Batteries VS Aftermarket:
OEM camcorder batteries usually carry a higher cost over an aftermarket camcorder battery. Our aftermarket replacement camcorder batteries have a higher
power capacity when compared to OEM camcorder batteries. Our camcorder batteries have a full 1 year warranty and are 100% compatible with
their corresponding camcorder models. Many of our video camera batteries meet UL, CE, FCC and RoHS certification standards to ensure safe and high quality
camcorder batteries.
Video Camera Battery Recycling:
Recycle your used camcorder batteries at any battery or electronics store. Camcorder batteries shouldn’t be thrown away in the trash can. You can contact
your local recycling center to find out where the nearest battery recycling station is located. Please note that Federal law requires used Ni-Cd
batteries to be managed as Universal Waste (40 CFR Part 273). The Universal Waste Rule prohibits handlers from disposing of waste Ni-Cd batteries and
these batteries must be sent for recycling. Camcorder batteries thrown in the trash can be hazardous to our environment and should be recycled.
Be Careful with your Camcorder Battery:
- Avoid dropping or hitting the camcorder battery pack. Battery cell contents can become damaged and are highly corrosive.
- Do not short-circuit a camcorder battery as it may cause damage to both the camcorder and battery pack.
- Do not expose the camcorder battery to water, moisture or extreme heat.
