UPS Battery Backup Information
UPS Battery Life:
Typical battery life for a UPS battery backup system is 3-5 years. Some batteries last longer depending on the environment they are in. UPS batteries
that are in hot environments and carry high loads of power usage tend to have a shorter lifespan. Ideally UPS batteries should be located in a cool and well
ventilated room. New UPS batteries typically take 12-16 hours to charge when they are first installed. UPS batteries offer power surge protection and battery
backup time during power outages ranging from 5 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on the type and size of UPS battery backup system. Most UPS battery backup
systems have a battery test light which indicates whether the batteries need to be replaced. If the UPS battery can’t hold a charge and the battery is depleted
quickly when unplugged, it might be time to replace your UPS battery. We offer brand new direct replacement UPS batteries at a fraction of the cost of a new
UPS battery backup system.
Replacing your UPS Battery – OEM VS Aftermarket:
Aftermarket UPS batteries typically cost less than OEM UPS batteries. Aftermarket UPS batteries on www.eobattery.com meet
or exceed OEM power specifications, come with a 1 year warranty and are 100% compatible with corresponding UPS systems.
Quality and reliability are seen in all of our replacement UPS backup batteries and across our entire Hi-Capacity
brand of products. Most of our UPS batteries meet UL, CE, FCC and RoHS certification standards to ensure safe and
high quality UPS batteries for uninterruptible power supply units.
UPS Battery Recycling:
UPS batteries can be recycled at any battery or electronics store. UPS batteries should not be thrown in the trash
as the chemicals are very harmful to the environment. You can contact a local recycling center to find out where you
can dispose of the UPS batteries. Please note that Federal law requires that used Ni-Cd batteries to be managed as
Universal Waste (40 CFR Part 273). The Universal Waste Rule suggests Ni-Cd batteries should not be thrown away as
waste and must be sent for recycling.
UPS Battery Cautions:
- Avoid damaging the UPS battery pack, as battery cell contents are highly corrosive.
- UPS battery packs should never be short-circuited as it may cause damage to both the UPS system and battery pack.
- Do not expose the UPS battery to extreme heat, moisture or direct water contact.
